Oh hell-my mother wouldn't even let me shorten my given name, let alone saddle me with a nickname.
But she did call me by my sister's name a lot...it sort of came out like "Jod-nette". My sister usually answered to "Jen-odie". And there was only two of us. I can't imagine what she'd done if I'd have had more brothers and sisters.
My husband has been threatened with castration if he even thinks of giving me a cutesy nickname. I can live with "Hon". I would well be within my rights to kill him over "cuddlekins", "lovebunny" or "my little monkey" (which is what my a friend of mine's husband calls her).
Since you have all bared your souls on this one (except perhaps Tiddly Winks... er... I mean Jen...) I'll come clean too. And believe me, I never thought I'd reveal this one on line. My childhood nickname came from my sister who was six years old when I was born, so she sort of claimed me as her own. Buzzy Bumpkins. But fortunately she usually just calls me Buzz now.
And if she doesn't post, I can tell you CJ's too. And better than that, I can tell you what C and J stand for. The C is common knowledge, but revealing the J could get me barred from the brotherhood.
I own this (if anyone even is reading these anymore). My family LOVES nicknames. I have called my mom George forever (circa I'll hug him and squeeze him and call him). It's all she answers to. George calls me Mrytle.
On the other hand, my Daddy calls me Little Wacker. Since I was like 8. He also calls me Little Roscoe and his parents Momma and Papa Roscoe.
And while we're on nicknames, my Dad calls every cat I have ever had Rootinator, or Root for short. My dogs (Sampson and Deliah) are Big'n and Lil'n.
Thanks for stopping by! Answer any question you like, however you like. Hopefully we'll learn a little bit about ourselves and a lot about each other. Happy answering!

Mom still calls me Dinky, and my father called me Squirrel.
Tori Tutu.
No, you cannot call me that.
And just for the record, it was a set:
Witty Wuwu, Katy Kakes, Spud, and Tori Tutu. So I don't feel quite as much like a complete dork.

Wow. On retrospect (okay, after reading your posts), I no longer hate Dinky.
Since Brian didn't post, his family calls him Budgie. His initials are BDGP, so that's where they got it (supposedly.) He calls me Love or D.
How does the nickname "Dead Man Walking" sound to you, Bill? That's the one I just gave you. :-)
Isn't a budgie a little bird? (my mom's a birder-that's the ONLY reason I would know that)
Mistake, Accident,etc.
My mother used to call me Amylou. It's kind of ironic because my ex-husbands name is Lou.
