Rude people

How do you respond to rude, aggressive people?

Sometimes I just stare at them open-mouthed like "I can't believe you just did/said that" and sometimes (if I'm feeling froggy) I'll confront them.

in extreme cases, be rude and aggressive right back... otherwise proving them wrong about something generally shuts them up...

I wonder who Rinda is referring to.... Sometimes I'm snippy back at them, or I just roll my eyes and walk away. In some cases, I'll try to help them with my mad psychological skills.

When confronted with rude people I feel the immediate surge of anger, but I generally control it by reminding myself that these people don't give a flying fart whether I am upset or not. My anger really only affects me, so I generally just let it go. Why let them ruin my mood too?

I generally follow the same approach as bill, although I have been known to interrupt a diatribe with something really off-the-wall, such as, "Cheerleading is fun," or "I like ponies."

If I can get a word in, I usually ask if their attitude makes them feel like a big man (even if it's a woman) and then ask them to either come back later, or go away for good, depending on the situation.

I'll probably get shot one day, but that's a risk I'm willing to take.
