Best teacher

Who was the best teacher (education-wise, not Mom, Dad, etc.) that you ever had and why?

Mrs. Jones was my freshman and sophomore years English teacher. She definitely was one of the first teachers to challenge me to think for myself. She drove by my house on her way to work in the morning and she offered to pick me up and bring me to school. So, she also saved me from the experience of riding the bus with kids from my town that were in total going to 4 high schools.

I've had a few good teachers, but none that I would describe as the best.

So I've thought about this, all day. And I can't think of a single teacher that gave me that life-shattering moment of inspiration. On the other hand, I had some badass profs in college that mean the world to me, but that's primarily on a friendship level. Best teacher? Toss up between my art teacher, Denise Hoots, or 7th grade history, Cynthia Robertson.

Ms Muffet (yes, I'm not making that up); HS senior honors lit and drama club advisor. She accepted me for what I am: loud and scrappy with a bizarre sense of humor, willing to go the extra mile for a friend.

Nearly all of my teachers from elementary to graduation treated me as though I had no value. I never understood that. College was different, but then it always is.
