Childhood dreams

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be an archaelogist. No, seriously. I read every book I could get my hands on and understand about the ancient Egyptians and wanted to go to Cairo and dig up mummies. I even stood in line for 3 hours when I was 12 to go through the King Tut exhibit when it came through Seattle.

Then I hit high school and almost flunked out of every science class I ever took.

I always wanted to be a writer. But not enough apparently to keep after it when a bad marriage and kids and mortgages got in the way.

A paleontologist (archeology was cool, too), a veterinarian (but I'm a hemophobe), a mathematician, and a writer (of novels). I'm feeling really bummed out now...

I wanted very much to be an astronaut, but that wasn't meant to be. Then I decided being a paleontologist would be neat, but for the longest time I wanted to be a macrobiologist.

A horrible freshman year bio class killed THAT dream.

I wanted to be a judge and live on a Plantation in Charleston. Since I was three.
